Driving License Fees: People’s pockets are likely to be burdened soon for getting a driving license. Currently, applicants have to spend Rs 1,000 for a permanent license, but after the Driving Training Centre (DTC) starts, they will have to spend Rs 6,000. Private training centres are expected to start in October.
For permanent driving license in Ghaziabad district, applicants have to come to the RTO office and get their biometrics and photograph taken. After this, a driving test has to be given in front of the divisional inspector. After passing this, the license is approved from the office. At the same time, applicants download the online driving license (DL) on their phone from the Sarathi portal. For this process, applicants have to deposit a fee of one thousand rupees online. This process of getting DL will completely change after the start of the driving training center.
For permanent license, applicants will have to deposit a fee of six thousand rupees after selecting the option of Driving Training Center (DTC). Out of this, one thousand rupees will go to the government account, while five thousand rupees will be the fee of the training center. The applicant will have to undergo 29 hours of training at the center. After this, there will be a test at the center. Driving license will be issued only after passing this. If you fail in the test, then you will have to pay a fee of 200 rupees for the test again.
At present, more than 500 applications for permanent licenses are being made every day. At present, the process of making DL from private driving training centers has started in the neighboring district Gautam Budh Nagar.
No change in the process of learning license: After the process of DL from private centers starts, there will be no change in learning and renewal licenses. Online application will be made for learning and test can be given on laptop at home. Similarly, for renewal, biometric and photo will have to be done in the RTO office. Also, health fitness will also have to be submitted online and the license will be issued after the test.
Three DTIs will open
Three training institutes (DTIs) are to be opened for driving license in the district. Training of driving on simulator will be given in the center. Also, test will be done on the driving track. Training will be given for light motor vehicles (LMV) and medium and heavy vehicles (HMV) in the center. The first driving training center (Accredited Driving Training Center) is being built near the metro station in Guldhar. The license of this center has been given to the company Di-Pak ATS Pvt. Ltd. This centre is expected to start functioning in the first week of October.
Ghaziabad ARTO Administration Rahul Srivastava said, “Private driving training centres will start in the first week of October. Efforts are being made to start the centre near Guldhar first. After this, Dasna centre will be started.”
