- You can create duplicate DL in the following situations
When the license is lost or destroyed. - When the license is damaged, blurred (characters etc. not visible) or torn or broken.
- When the photograph affixed with the license needs to be changed.
What are the documents required for making a duplicate license?
- One has to apply in RTO by giving the information asked in Form-2.
- Original license if available or in poor condition may also be granted.
- In case of loss of license, photocopy of driving license has to be attested.
- The prescribed fee and user charges are also to be paid along with the application.
How can you apply for a duplicate license?
- You can apply for duplicate driving license both online and offline. Check the steps given below to apply online:
- First of all go to the official website of Transport Department https://sarathi.parivahan.gov.in/.
Select the respective state. - Click on “Services on Driving License (Renewal/Duplicate/AEDL/Others)” from the “Driving License” menu.
- Fill up the application form.
- Click “Next Button” to proceed.
- Visit the RTO on the scheduled date along with original documents and fee slip.
- After 30 days of completion of online process of driving license, duplicate driving license will come to your address through post.
