District Transport Officer Lalan Prasad said that information has been issued to update the documents. According to the provision contained in Section 49 of the Motor Vehicles Act, if the residence recorded in the registration certificate is changed by the vehicle owner, then it is mandatory to provide information about his new address to the competent authority within 30 days.
There is a provision for action as per the rules on its violation. According to the official, to update the mobile number, the mobile number linked to Aadhaar will have to be given. It is worth noting that the facility of updating is available on the Transport Service Portal.
