Driving Training Institute: Delhi government will open new training institute for driving, know what service will be provided

Delhi Driving Training Institute: Delhi Government will now teach you the tricks of driving. A training institute is going to be opened soon for this. Delhi Government’s Transport Minister Kailash Gehlot said that people will not only get the knowledge of driving carefully, but they will also be able to practice by driving on the modern test track.

New Delhi: If you live in Delhi and want to learn driving then there is no need to worry. Delhi government has also made arrangements for this. Kejriwal government is going to open a training institute soon. In this, people will be taught the tricks of driving. In these, the learners will not only get the knowledge of modern traffic rules and driving carefully, but they will also be able to practice by driving on the modern test track. Let us tell you that at present, two such centers are already running – one in Sarai Kale Khan and the other in Loni. Both are from Maruti Suzuki. Apart from this, there is another center in Burari, which is run by Ashok Leyland and provides training to drive big vehicles. The length of these courses is usually 3-4 weeks.

What did the Transport Minister tell?

Transport Minister Kailash Gehlot said that the most important thing for the vehicles plying on the road is that the driver driving them should be properly trained. These new test tracks are equipped with sensors and cameras, which test driving on 24 types of parameters. This gives learners all the skills they need to hit the road. He further said that to meet this need, we will open a driving institute with ADTT near each of our RTOs. For this, we are also exploring the possibility of partnering with private companies.

What is the present arrangement?

Experts are hopeful that the Delhi government’s proposed move to open Automated Driving Test Tracks (ADTT) to train applicants for driving licenses will increase the passing percentage. Currently, around 40,000 people take the test for driving license a month in Delhi, of which 50% do not pass the automated ones. A transport department official said the pass percentage in the manual version is as high as 80%. He said that the chances of people passing the driving license test will increase if they are trained at the Institute of Driving and Traffic Research (IDTRS) as these have automated tracks.

Modern test tracks are going to be built near every RTO, on which a lot of practice can be done before the license test. These tracks will be built in Burari, Dwarka Sector 22, Hari Nagar, Jharoda Kalan, Lado Sarai, Mayur Vihar, Raja Garden, Rohini Sector 28, Vishwas Nagar, Wazirpur and Shakur Basti. Transport Minister Kailash Gehlot said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Delhi has been at the forefront in using technology to increase road safety. Taking this objective forward, these new tracks will make it easier for people to obtain a license.

Features:

These tracks will be made separately for two-wheelers and four-wheelers. These scientifically designed tracks will test different driving skills-

  • Reverse parallel parking
  • Driving in reverse-S pattern
  • Emergency braking
  • Ramp up and down

Former Deputy Commissioner of Delhi Transport Department, Anil Chhikara, while praising the track, says that these tests accurately assess the driving skills of the people. But it is also important that the learners get real experience of driving on the road before giving the test. He further said that in view of the increasing traffic, it is also important to develop awareness towards road safety and proper traffic sense.
