Duplicate Pan Card Process: PAN card is such an important document, if lost, you may have to face a lot of problems related to tax and finance. Losing Permanent Account Number (PAN) is not a new thing but it is definitely a big deal. But now you don’t need to panic.

However, now you do not need to panic. If your PAN card is stolen, lost, or damaged, you can now apply for a duplicate PAN card. The Income Tax Department allows you to do this.

Let us tell you how you can apply for duplicate PAN card both online and offline. Know the step by step process.

Apply online like this

  • First of all you go to the official TIN-NSDL website.
  • Next you select the type of application: Proceed by selecting the application type as “Change or correction in existing PAN data/Reprint of PAN card (No change in existing PAN data)”.
  • After this you fill the necessary information on the form.
  • You then generate a token number After submitting your information, a token number will be generated and sent to your registered email address. Keep this token number with you for future reference.
  • Fill in the required personal details and choose the method of submission for your PAN application. You will get three options to submit your application for duplicate PAN:
  • Forward the application documents yourself: Print the acknowledgment form, carry the required documents and send them to the PAN service unit of NSDL through registered post.
  • Submit digitally through e-KYC and e-Sign (Paperless): Use Aadhaar for this option and authenticate your details with an OTP. To e-sign the form, you will need a Digital Signature (DSC).
  • Submit scanned images through e-sign: You need to upload the scanned images of your photograph, sign and other documents.
  • Select Card Type: Choose whether you want a physical PAN card or e-PAN card. If you opt for e-PAN card then you will have to provide a valid email ID.
  • Submit Documents and Make Payment: After choosing the method of application submission, provide all the information under “Contact and Other Details” and “Document Details” section.
  • After this, you will be directed to the payment page. Once the payment is completed, an acknowledgment will be generated.
