E-way bill and FasTag connected, now GST stolen, it will be difficult to get movement of goods related to ew bill, real time information

Being connected to FasTag, information about how many toll plazas the vehicle has crossed is being received on real time. If the value of all goods except gold is more than Rs 50000, then the ewe bill is mandatory for its transportation at the interstate level.

New Delhi:The government’s strictness to curb GST evasion is increasing steadily. Now GST officers are able to keep real time information about the movement of goods related to E-way bill. Ewe Bill has been linked to Fastag and Radio Frequency Identification (RFID). With this, the vehicles carrying goods are being monitored. This has made it easier to rein in GST evasion.

According to experts, during the generation of the ewe bill, complete information about the vehicle carrying the goods has to be given. The ewe bill system has been linked to the mobile app held by the GST officer. In such a situation, by entering the number of vehicles, GST officials will be able to easily know where that vehicle is now and how long it will take to reach its destination.

Due to being connected to FasTag, information about how many toll plazas the vehicle has crossed is being received on real time. If the value of all commodities except gold is more than Rs 50,000, then the ewe bill is mandatory for its transportation at the interstate level.

According to experts, GST officials will now easily find out how many vehicles carrying goods have passed through the toll plaza without an ewe bill. This will prevent the illegal transportation of goods at the inter-state level, which will lead to further reduction in GST evasion. On suspicion of a freight train with an ewe bill, GST officials can also stop it on the way as they have real time information of the car. According to the rule, businessmen and transporters are required to produce the evey bill by the GST inspector.

Earlier, the transporters used to pretend that the car broke down on the way, so it took time to transport goods from one state to another. Now they will not be able to do so. The validity of an ewe bill lasts for a certain period of time and the transportation of goods must be completed during that time. There is a provision for penalty for not doing so. In the last three years, 180 crore ewe bills have been created. Of these, only seven crore eve bills have been investigated by the tax authorities.
