Eight hundred crore rupees are outstanding
Dakshinanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited (DVVNL) owes Rs 800 crore to consumers. Constant pressure was being put on the consumers to deposit it. Since last year, the defaulting consumers were waiting for the arrival of OTS (One Time Settlement Scheme).
The scheme was not implemented last year. Due to which the wait of consumers increased further. At last this day arrived on Wednesday. Chief Engineer Commerce Dr. Anil Pandey said that 100 percent surcharge waiver will be provided on submission of full payment for domestic LMV up to one kilowatt load from November 8 to 30.
Exemption in surcharge also
Similarly, in the second section also, 100 percent surcharge waiver will be given on full payment from December 1 to 15. In the third section, if the consumer makes full payment between December 16 and 31, then only 80 percent rebate in surcharge will be provided. There is a provision for exemption in surcharge according to weight and on the basis of sections. DVVNL has given the slogan of ‘Come first and get more benefits’.

There will be uninterrupted electricity on Diwali. For this, Managing Director of Dakshinanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited (DVVNL) Amit Kishore has given instructions to all the chief engineers. There will be no shutdowns and cuts in the name of maintenance. Instructions have also been given to start preparations for this from now on.
Superintending Engineer Jatashankar Mishra said that preparations have already been started to ensure that there is no power cut.
