There are four electricity transmission sections in the district. Sadar, Raniganj, Lalganj and Kunda. There are a total of 5 lakh 45 thousand consumers under this. To provide uninterrupted electricity to the consumers, the department is laying aerial bunch cable lines from the city to the village, so that the problem of local fault can be resolved.

Apart from this, smart meters are also being installed to stop electricity theft. The campaign is going on in full swing in the city, so that people can get electricity in a systematic manner. On the other hand, there are preparations to run a campaign to recover the bills from the defaulters as well. In this, the maximum focus will be on the consumers who have not deposited the bill even once after taking the connection.

They have dues of about 9 billion 60 lakhs. Even during the surcharge waiver scheme, they did not show any interest in paying the bills, but now the department’s entire focus is on such defaulters. Superintending Engineer Satyapal said that a disconnection campaign is being run against them by preparing a list of defaulters. The campaign will be speeded up soon.
