New prepaid smart meters are being installed in place of old meters in Hardoi. The power supply will be cut off automatically as soon as the recharge tariff ends. This campaign will ensure uninterrupted power supply and resources used in recovering dues will be saved. Under the campaign, the corporation will move further towards uninterrupted power supply and resources and labor used in recovering dues will be saved.

Smart meters: The campaign to install new prepaid smart meters in place of old meters installed in the homes of electricity consumers has been launched. The electricity supply will be automatically cut off as soon as the recharge tariff ends in the smart meter being installed. Departmental officials said that under the campaign, the corporation will move further towards uninterrupted power supply, while resources and labor used in recovering dues will be saved.

Electricity department officials reached Vikas Bhawan under the leadership of Executive Engineer Surya Kumar. After talks with Chief Development Officer Saumya Gururani, the departmental team started the campaign by removing the old meter of the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities and installing a smart meter with Vedic chanting and worship. Under the campaign, smart meters were installed in all the departments of Vikas Bhawan.

The Executive Engineer said that government offices get other expenses including electricity dues in the budget released in the year, so post paid meters have been installed in government offices. At the same time, prepaid meters will be installed in the homes of other consumers. On this occasion, Sub-Divisional Officer Akash Sharma, Junior Engineer Parmanand, Vaibhav Kumar of Gomti Smart Metering, Rakesh Sharma etc. were present.
