Electricity Bills Rules: Soon, consumers in the city will be relieved of the hassle of wrong electricity bills and their readings. Survey work is going on in full swing to install smart meters with new technology. 2900 meters have been installed in the city. At many places, the team conducting the survey is also facing doubts from the people. Usually, consumers complain that their electricity bills are coming wrong.
Meter readers are also accused of taking arbitrary figures. All these problems will end with the smart meters that are being installed. Chief Engineer Dheeraj Sinha said that old meters will be removed and new meters will be installed. No additional charge will be taken for these.
Bill will be automatically generated on the last date of every month
Modem is installed in the smart meter. Through which, the online bill of the electricity consumed on the last day of the month will be generated and sent to the consumer’s mobile number. There will be no possibility of wrong bill. There are 3.64 lakh consumers in the city, out of which 1.12 lakh consumers already have smart meters installed. Smart meters will be installed by removing electronic meters.
Smart meters are also being installed in rural areas. Chief Engineer Zone 2 Sunil Kumar Gupta said that the work of installing smart meters is going on in Sardhana Town.
Smart meters installed on all feeders to curb power theft
There are 410 feeders at 51 power substations in the city. From where power is supplied to different localities and areas. Smart meters have been installed on all feeders. Through this, the load is being checked every hour. In areas where line loss is high, these smart meters will be effective in assessing power consumption and the recovery of electricity bills in relation to it. Not only this, they are also being installed on distribution transformers. So far 183 meters have been installed.
