Strict action has been initiated against electricity theft in Mainpuri. On the instructions of the newly arrived DM Anjani Kumar Singh, the team of the electricity department went door to door in the town of Kuravali and warned that if electricity theft is detected through collusion in the meter, action will be taken against the consumer reader and the junior engineer of the area. Instructions have also been given to replace the faulty meter.
Electricity Department: As soon as the newly arrived DM Anjani Kumar Singh took charge, the team of the electricity department also got into action. Under the leadership of the superintending engineer, the subordinates went door to door in the town of Kuravali.
Warning, he said that if electricity theft is detected due to collusion in the meter, then action will be taken against the consumer, reader and the junior engineer of the area. Appealing to the defaulters to pay the deposited amount, he gave instructions to replace the faulty meter.
Go door to door and collect electricity bills from consumers
Superintending Engineer Ravi Pratap reached Kuravali town on Monday afternoon. He investigated electricity theft in the town along with Subdivision Officer Piyush Shukla, Junior Engineer Ramsanehi and disconnection team. He went door to door and collected electricity bills from consumers.
While giving instructions to investigate suspicious bills, he said that if any consumer colludes with the meter reader or contract worker and plays with billing, action will be taken against both. To resolve the problems of consumers, area-wise process should be completed by setting up camps. He appealed to register a complaint on 1912 for faulty meter or any other problem.
Action will be taken if store reading is caught
While directing the subdivision officer, he said that if store reading is caught then action for termination of service should be taken against such reader. All junior engineers should contact the defaulters of Rs 50 thousand to Rs one lakh and subdivision officer should contact the defaulters of Rs one lakh to two lakh and get the amount deposited.
