Electricity Smart Meter: The electricity department has found an amazing solution to get the smart meter recharged by the customers. Actually, now action will be taken for not recharging the electricity meter. Penalty will have to be paid along with the outstanding and recharge amount.
Assistant Engineer of Electricity Department Purnendra Kumar said that a team of smart meter investigation has been formed under the leadership of supervisor Avnish Kumar. Which is visiting all the villages of the block area and investigating the electricity usage.
Seven thousand smart meters installed
Supervisor Avnish Kumar said that about eighteen thousand smart meters have been installed in the block area so far. In which seven thousand smart meters have been installed at Sikta Bazar, Gauripur Bazar, Baishkhwa Bazar, Shanti Chowk of Jagannathpur.
At the same time, out of the seven thousand smart meters installed in the market, 2436 consumers are not recharging their smart meters. Their connection has been cut. Despite this, these people are using electricity by connecting bypass connection. Action will be taken against such people.
Power cut for seven hours for maintenance work
On the other hand, due to maintenance work in Bhagalpur, power supply in the southern area was disrupted for seven hours. Vikramshila feeder was closed from 10 am to 5 pm for maintenance work. Due to this, power supply to more than three dozen areas connected to the feeder was disrupted during this time.
People had to face problems due to unannounced power cuts. Maintenance work is going on for two days. For this, the supply is being stopped by shutting down the feeder, but the consumers were not informed about it earlier.
As per the instructions of the headquarters, consumers have to be informed about the power cut by sending a message on their mobile 12 hours before the power cut. Not only this, the power should not be kept off for more than three hours. But the local officer is ignoring the instructions of the headquarters and the rule is not being followed.
Case registered against five people in power theft case
Raids were conducted in Laxmipur on Tuesday regarding power theft in Kursakanta (Araria) block area. In which a case has been registered against five electricity consumers. This information was given by Junior Engineer PSS Kursakanta Arvind Kumar.
He told that information was being received that some consumers are consuming electricity illegally in Maheshkhunt Ward No. 7 of Laxmipur Panchayat. When the raid was conducted on the basis of the information received, five people were caught.
A case has been registered against the above five for electricity theft under the Electricity Act. Supervisor Yugal Kishore Mandal along with human force were present during the raid.
