Why is smart prepaid meter special?
UPCL Managing Director Anil Kumar said that this prepaid meter system will be highly convenient for consumers, as it will give them the freedom to use and pay electricity as per their requirement.
Through smart prepaid meter, now consumers will be able to use electricity by recharging only Rs 100. This facility will be very convenient for consumers, as currently it is mandatory to deposit a fixed amount of bill.
Consumers will get this discount
Even if the consumer has used less electricity. After the installation of prepaid meter, consumers will be able to use electricity according to their budget and requirement. This will give relief to consumers from unnecessary electricity bills. When the consumer’s recharge is over, the power supply will automatically stop after a certain time period.
However, keeping in mind the interests of the consumers, UPCL has announced a special discount. Under this, if the consumer’s recharge ends and it is Saturday or Sunday, then such consumers will get a bonus of two days. During this time the power supply will not be interrupted.
Electricity will be restored in 15 minutes
The recharge process will also be very simple and fast. As soon as the consumer recharges a new one, the power supply will be restored automatically within 15 minutes. For this, there will be no need to call any employee of the electricity department to connect or disconnect the connection. This entire process will be operated automatically and digitally, which will save both the time and resources of the consumers.
Monitoring electricity consumption
The most important thing about smart prepaid meters is that consumers will be able to easily view their electricity expenditure through a mobile app. Consumers can view their electricity expenditure every day, every hour and even every 15 minutes.
