Electricity tariff hike: Big news for electricity consumers! Electricity rates have increased so much in this state, check the new unit rates

Electricity rates for domestic and industrial categories have been increased as compared to last year. Now the electricity rates have changed in the slab of 0 to 50 units.

Electricity tariff hike: Electricity consumers in Haryana will get higher electricity bills. In fact, the electricity regulator HERC has announced the electricity tariff order for 2025-26, in which electricity rates for domestic and industrial categories in Haryana have been increased by 20 to 30 paise per kilowatt hour / kVAH as compared to last year. According to PTI news, Haryana Electricity Regulatory Commission i.e. HERC has increased the electricity rate by 20 paise per kilowatt hour (kWh) for domestic consumers.

Now you will have to pay this much per kilowatt hour

According to the news, the electricity rate in the slab of 0 to 50 units has now been changed from Rs 2 per kilowatt hour to Rs 2.20 per kilowatt hour. Similarly, an increase was also seen in the 51-100 unit slab in which the rate has been increased from Rs 2.50 per kilowatt hour to Rs 2.70 per kilowatt hour.

Latest rates for industrial users

In terms of the industrial sector, the rate for 11 kVAh has been changed from ₹ 6.65 per kVAh (kilovolt-ampere hour) to ₹ 6.95 per kVAh. The fixed charge has been increased from ₹ 165 per kid (kilovolt ampere) per month to ₹ 290 per kid per month. For agriculture category with metered connections, the tariff, monthly minimum charge (MMC) has been reduced from the existing tariff of ₹200 per BHP per annum to ₹180/144 per BHP per annum depending upon the load.

New category for load above 5 kW

HERC has introduced a new category for consumers with load above 5 kW. The rate has been fixed at Rs 6.50 per kWh for consumption up to 500 units, while for 501 to 1,000 units it is Rs 7.15 per kWh and for more than 1,000 units it is Rs 7.50 per kWh. Also, a fixed charge of Rs 50 per kWh has been imposed for the slabs of 301 to 500 units and above 500 units.
