The state government has increased the uniform allowance by 70 percent, which will benefit about four lakh employees from inspector to fourth class. Earlier, the uniform allowance was increased in 2019.
With this decision, the head constable and constable will now get a uniform allowance of Rs 5000 instead of Rs 3000 per year. This will put an additional expenditure burden of about Rs 58 crore on the state government. The police accommodation allowance of constables living in the barracks has been increased by 25%. CM Yogi Adityanath made these announcements on the occasion of Police Memorial Day. It has been announced to increase the budget from Rs 70 lakh to Rs 10 crore for training-diet and other items of policemen participating in national-international sports.

Actually, currently in Uttar Pradesh, constables get 3000 rupees as uniform allowance. After this increase, it will increase to about 5100 rupees. Class IV employees will be given three thousand rupees per year instead of two thousand. Earlier, Inspector, SI and ASI used to get 7500 rupees as uniform allowance in 5 years. After the announcement, they will get 3000 rupees per year. Apart from this, housing allowance has also been increased, in such a situation, the policemen of urban areas living in barracks, who get 2400 till now and the constables of rural areas get 800 rupees, will also get an increase of 25 percent, that is, the amount of allowance will now increase.
Uttarakhand policemen also get a gift
On Police Smriti Diwas, Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami has also announced to give Rs 100 crore in the coming financial year for building government housing for policemen. Apart from this, the nutritious diet allowance for police officers and employees has been increased by 100. It has been announced to give Rs 3500 as uniform allowance to Inspector and Sub Inspector, earlier this allowance used to be Rs 4,000 every 5 years, now it has been almost doubled to Rs 7,500 per 5 years. Along with this, it has also been announced to increase the allowance from 200 to 300 per day for the policemen doing duty at an altitude of more than 9000 feet.
