Employees Holiday: Big Relief for employees, will get benefit of paid leave, department order issued

It has been said in the order that under Section 135 (B) of the Public Representation Act 151, industrial, commercial and other establishments operating in every constituency should ensure that paid leave is given to the employees on the voting day.

Employees Holiday: There is important news for the government and non-government employees and officers of Chhattisgarh. General holiday has been declared in the respective areas on the polling days for the two phases of voting for the Assembly General Election-2023 in Chhattisgarh. In this regard, an order has been issued by Chhattisgarh General Administration Department. The special thing is that salary will not be deducted for this, if anyone does so, action will be taken against him.

There will be holiday for 2 days after voting

Under the order, a general holiday has been declared in all government offices and institutions on 7 November 2023 in the respective 20 assembly constituencies for the first phase and on 17 November 2023 in 70 assembly constituencies of the second phase. Along with this, it also includes those offices or institutions which are included under the Negotiable Instruments Act 1881. Apart from this, instructions have been issued to give paid leave to officers and employees in private institutions, industrial and commercial establishments.

Paid leave benefits

  • As per the instructions of the Election Commission, the Labor Department has issued an order to give paid leave on polling day to the employees working in industrial, commercial and other establishments for the Assembly elections.
  • It has been said in the order that under Section 135 (B) of the Public Representation Act 151, industrial, commercial and other establishments operating in every constituency should ensure that paid leave is given to the employees on the voting day.
  • As per the instructions of the Commission, in the neighboring states of Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Telangana, the voting date of November 17 and November 30 has been declared as a paid holiday for the people working in private and public establishments/shops, industrial undertakings or business in their home state.
  • Punitive action can also be taken against the employer for not granting paid leave. According to the Commission, those employees whose names are registered in other constituencies will also be eligible for leave.

These instructions for workers working in factories

It has been clarified in the order that in those factories which work seven days a week, first and second shift workers should be declared a holiday of 02 hours each on the day of voting or they should be provided the facility to vote one by one. Voting facility should also be provided to all working workers or employees, whether daily wage earners or casual workers.
