Jharkhand Government Employees Holidays: There is good news for the government employees of Jharkhand. The Hemant Soren government of the state has declared a public holiday for the year 2024. In this, the state government has announced a total of 33 holidays for 2024. The government has declared 21 days of holidays under the NI Act and 12 days under the Executive Act. The Personnel Department has also issued an order in this regard.
Under the order, no separate holiday has been given next year due to Holika Dahan, Ambedkar Jayanti, Mahavir Jayanti, Sohrai Sohrai, Hool Diwas, Chitragupta Puja falling on Sunday. Gazetted holidays have been declared on marked festivals/occasions. According to the executive order on the mentioned dates, all offices and revenue offices under the Government of Jharkhand will remain closed. According to the order issued by the Personnel Department, there may be a change in the date of holiday scheduled for the Muslim festival depending on the phase of sighting of the moon.
When will there be holidays in 2024?
- Under NI Act in Jharkhand, Republic Day on 26 January, Mahashivratri on 8 March, Holi on 25 March, Good Friday on 29 March, Eid on 11 April, Ram Navami on 17 April, Buddha Purnima on 23 May, Bakrid on 17 June.
- Muharram on 17th July, Independence Day on 15th August, Janmashtami on 26th August, Karma on 14th September, Mohammad Saheb’s birth anniversary on 16th September, Gandhi Jayanti on 2nd October, Maha Ashtami and Mahanavami on 11th October.
- Vijayadashami on 12th October, Diwali on 31st October, Chhath on 7th and 8th November, Guru Nanak Jayanti on 15th November and Christmas holiday on 25th December have been declared.
- Under the executive order, Makar Sakranti on 15 January, Subhash Chandra Bose Jayanti on 23 January, Basant Jayanti on 14 February, Sant Ravidas Jayanti on 24 February, Labor Day on 1 May, World Tribal Day on 9 August.
- Raksha Bandhan on 19th August, Ganesh Chaturthi on 7th September, Vishwakarma Puja on 17th September, Shardiya Navratri on 3rd October, Dussehra on 10th October and Govardhan Puja on 2nd November have been included.
- Due to it being Sunday, there will be Sohrai holiday on 14th January. Holika Dahan on March 24, Ambedkar Jayanti on April 14, Mahavir Jayanti on April 21, Hool Day on June 30, Rath Yatra on July 7, Chitragupta Puja on November 3 have not been declared as separate holidays. The annual closure of banks is going to happen on 1st April.
