Employees Maternity Leave: There is good news for women employees. They will get the benefit of leave. Resolution letter has been issued for this. Earlier in the cabinet meeting the proposal for this was approved. After which it has now been approved.
Resolution issued on proposal related to maternity leave
Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren has approved the proposal regarding maternity leave to women employees appointed on contract basis. Employees appointed on contract will get the benefit of maternity leave. They will be provided the facility of 180 days leave. Tell that earlier there was no provision for the benefit of maternity leave to women employees appointed on contract.
After coming to the notice of the Chief Minister, proposals were prepared for this. After which approval has been given to give maternity leave to women employees appointed on contract. The Finance Department had given its approval on this 5 months back. After which the CM has taken a big decision in this matter. Now a resolution letter has also been issued on this.
180 days maternity leave benefit
The proposal approved by the Chief Minister will be applicable to such women employees who have worked on contract for 80 days in the last 12 months. They will get the benefit of 180 days maternity leave. This leave will not apply to the delivery after 2 children. Along with this, the contract amount has been recognized equal to the last contract amount before going on leave. After the resolution letter is issued from the Finance Department, instructions are being issued by other departments as well. The Rural Development Department has approved the facility of maternity leave to all women regional workers working on contract under MNREGA in Jharkhand.
MNREGA Commissioner Rajeshwari has written a letter to all the Deputy Commissioners and has given instructions to give 180 days maternity leave to women regional employees working under MNREGA as per rules. Women employees appointed on contract basis in other neighboring states of Jharkhand state are already being given the benefit of maternity leave. After the decision of the cabinet on 25 July 2023, the resolution letter has now been issued after the order by the Finance Department.
