Central Govt Employees Retirement Age: Putting an end to the speculations about the change in retirement age, the central government has clarified that no proposal to change the retirement age of employees is under consideration of the government. In a written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday, Personnel Minister Jitendra Singh said on behalf of the government that the current retirement age is 60 years.
He further said that the government is actively working on policies and programs to provide employment opportunities to the youth in civil services and is filling the vacancies on time through employment fairs.
Recruitments are being done in mission mode: Government
Jitendra Singh also said that the government is constantly engaged in formulating policies, programs and other measures to provide employment to the youth in civil services as per government work. Apart from this, central ministries and departments are instructed from time to time to fill the vacant posts in a timely manner.
Rojgar fairs are organized in mission mode to fill the vacancies in all central government ministries, departments, central public sector undertakings, autonomous bodies and institutions in the education and health sectors. This provides employment opportunities to the youth in civil services.
What did the government say on the subsidy given to the elderly in railways?
When asked about the possibility of restoration of subsidy given earlier to the elderly and accredited journalists, Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that the total subsidy given to the passengers by the Government of India is Rs 56,993 crore. The price of every Rs 100 travel service is Rs 54. A subsidy of 46 percent is given to passengers of all categories.
