When the merger bill was brought in the legislative session, Governor Soundararajan Easwar gave his approval to it. In such a situation RTC employees will be called government employees. The retirement age of government employees in the state is 61 years while the retirement age of TSRTC employees is 60 years. Now a proposal has been prepared to increase the retirement age of TSRTC employees. The company management has prepared a proposal to increase the existing retirement age from 60 to 61 years.

With the cabinet’s approval of the proposal, the retirement age of employees will increase by 1 year. Bills to merge TSRTC employees into government service have already been approved. In such a situation, now the state government had responded to the increase in their age of service. A committee has been formed under the chairmanship of Ramakrishna Rao, Special Secretary, Finance Department.
On October 11, the Special Secretary of the Transport Department had written a letter to RTC HD directing them to submit the proposal to increase the age limit to the committee. In such a situation, it is believed that soon orders will be issued to increase the retirement age of employees and their retirement age may increase to 61 years.
