EPF Balance: The Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has started crediting the interest of the FY 2019-20 in the EPF account of its subscribers.
Despite the Covid-19 crisis, the EPFO is crediting interest at the rate of 8.5 per cent to the account of its shareholders. This will benefit more than 60 million EPFO subscribers. If you too come from a salaried section and you want to see how much money has been deposited in your EPF account after adding the interest amount, you can check the balance for it in many ways. Even through passbook, you can see the entire account.
You can get this information through missed call, SMS, Unified Member Portal and EPFO website. Balance check can be done in these different ways:
1. Via SMS
Step 1: You have to SMS on mobile number 7738299899.
Step 2: You have to type in the right message box of your mobile- EPFOHO UAN ENG.
The service is available in English, Hindi, Punjabi, Gujarati, Marathi, Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Bengali languages. If you want this information in Hindi, then you have to type- EPFOHO UAN HIN.

After sending this SMS you will get a message in a while. In this message, you will get information about the amount deposited in the PF account.
2. Through missed call
To find out the amount deposited in the PF account through missed call, you have to give a missed call from your registered mobile number on 011-22901406. You will receive an SMS within a short time of giving a missed call. With this SMS, you will get information about the amount deposited in the PF account.
3. Via Umang App
You have to download Umang App from Play Store or App Store. There are many government services available on this app. In this, after selecting the EPFO option, you have to select ‘Employee Centric Service’. Now you enter the UAN number. After this an OTP will be received on your mobile. You can check EPF balance under ‘View Passbook’.
4. Through EPFO member passbook website
For this, you will have to log in at https://passbook.epfindia.gov.in/MemberPassBook/Login. You can check passbook by logging in using UAN and password.
I am an old member of EPFO and was on the list from 1973 to 1990.PF contribution has already withdrawn. Would like to know the way to trace out my details so that I could apply for family pention which is deducted from 1973 to 1990. Pl. advice.
