Reasons for rejection of EPF claim
The biggest reason for rejection of EPF claim is that your information does not match with the EPFO database, due to which you are not able to get the claim. For this reason, it is important to always check your information carefully while filing EPF claim.
Name mismatch
Many times it is seen that your name is different in EPFO records and Aadhar card. Your claim should not be rejected because of this. For this, joint declaration form should be submitted along with the claim.
Date of birth
Even if the date of birth is different in Aadhaar and EPFO records, your EPF claim gets rejected. For this reason, you should get your date of birth corrected in EPFO or Aadhaar, so that your claim is not rejected.
Wrong bank account number
One of the reasons for rejection of a large number of claims by EPFO is the wrong bank account number, due to which the claim is rejected by EPFO. For this reason, the bank account number should always be checked while filing the claim.
UAN and Aadhaar not linked
If your Aadhaar is not linked to UAN, your claim will be rejected by EPFO. In such a situation, you should link your UAN with Aadhaar.
Selecting the wrong form
Incorrect application submitted for withdrawal of money from EPF account is a reason for rejection of claim. For this reason one must be sure to use the proper withdrawal form to withdraw money.
