EPFO has given the last chance to the employer till January 31, 2025 to upload information related to 3 lakh 10 thousand pending applications related to higher pension.
EPFO Higher Pension: The Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has given a big relief to pensioners. EPFO has given the employer an opportunity to settle 3.1 lakh pending high pension applications by January 31, 2025. That is, the employer has been given time to upload all the salary related information online.
Many opportunities given to employers
EPFO issued a press release on December 18, 2024. It said that more than 3.1 lakh applications for pension on high salary are pending. Retirement fund body EPFO had earlier asked the employer to update the information of 4.66 lakh pending cases by January 15, 2024.
EPFO said, despite being given so much time, it is seen that more than 3.1 lakh applications are still pending with the employer for verification of options / joint options.
We received applications from employers and employer associations for additional time to upload salary details, so now employers are being given a last chance till January 31, 2025 to upload salary details etc. of the pending 3.1 lakh applications to ensure that they upload these pending applications by disposing them soon.
Clarification sought on many applications
EPFO has also requested employers to submit their replies or information on more than 4.66 lakh cases by January 15, 2025, in which additional clarification has been sought regarding the applications examined. EPFO has extended the deadline for uploading salary details by employers several times.
Earlier, employers were given time till September 30, 2023 to submit salary details etc. of EPS pensioners and EPF members online. After this, several opportunities were given again till December 31, 2023 and then till May 31, 2024, to ensure that the employer is able to settle the higher pension applications.
Track the application made for pension in this way
Any EPS pensioner can track his application for pension by visiting the EPFO portal. For this, first go to https://unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in/memberInterfacePohw/ and then click on the ‘track status of EPS higher pension applications’ option. Now enter the acknowledgement number, UAN, PPO number and captcha code.
The thing to keep in mind here is that the employees working at the present time will have to give UAN number, while EPS pensioners will have to give PPO number. After this, to ensure your identity, click on the check box and share your Aadhaar number, biometric / one-time pin (OTP). A one-time password will come on the mobile number linked to Aadhaar for OTP. Now enter this OTP to know the status of your pension.
