There is important news for 6 crore subscribers of EPFO. The organization has changed a rule, which can be difficult for the employed. Actually, the organization has made it necessary to link the Universal Account Number (UAN) of the PF account with the Aadhaar card. For this, EPFO has made changes in section 142 of the Social Security Code 2020. This has changed the Electronic Challan cum Return (ECR) filing protocol.
EPFO said in its recent tweet that after June 1, 2021, the employer will be able to file ECR of the same employee whose UAN will be linked to Aadhaar. Those whose Aadhaar is not updated, their ECR will be filled separately. He can later link the employee’s UAN with Aadhaar. But everyone has to do it as soon as possible.
what will happen now?
If Aadhaar is not linked with your account, then EPFO can stop the contribution of the company coming to the employee’s account. It will be able to start only when Aadhaar is linked with your PF account. Therefore, if you have not given the Aadhaar number in the PF account, then complete this work quickly.
12 million new members arrived
Let us inform that according to a latest report released by the National Statistical Office (NSO), 12.24 lakh new members have joined the schemes of EPFO in March this year. In February, 11.77 lakh new employees were associated with these schemes. However, in the last financial year, the number of members joining ESIC has decreased by 24 percent. During this period, 1.15 crore new employees were added to the schemes of ESIC. In the financial year 2019-20, their number was 1.50 crore.
