EPFO: If you are a member of Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO), then you must get your Employees Provident Fund (EPF) and Employee Pension Scheme (EPS) nominated. Just as the nominee of bank accounts is made, in the same way the nomination of EPF and EPS should also be done. So that the nominee can get the facility of fund and pension in case of any sudden mishap.
EPFO member has got the facility
EPFO provides the facility of e-nomination to its member employees. This service is available digitally. That is, the EPF account holder can make a nominee sitting at home.
Facility will be available only on active UAN
The facility of e-nomination will be available to those members whose UAN is active and mobile number is linked with Aadhaar. Know here that EPF nomination is also valid for EPS.
How to do e-nomination in EPF/EPS
EPFO members First, go to the website and click on ‘For Employees’ in the ‘Services’ section. Here you have to click on ‘Member UAN / Online Service (OCS / OTCP)’. In this, you have to log in by entering UAN and password. After this, click on ‘e-Nomination’ in the ‘Manage’ tab. Here the ‘Provide Details’ tab will appear on the screen, click on ‘Save’. Click on ‘Yes’ to update the family’s declaration here. Now click on ‘Add Family Details’. Here you can add more than one nominee and their share. To provide these details, click on ‘Nomination Details’. After entering the details, click on ‘Save EPF Nomination’. After that click on ‘e-Sign’ to generate OTP. OTP will be sent to the mobile number linked with Aadhaar.
7 lakh cover to EPFO member
EPFO member gets the facility of life insurance. All EPFO subscribers are covered under the Employees’ Deposit Linked Insurance Scheme. The maximum insurance cover is up to Rs 7 lakh. In this, the minimum insurance cover is Rs 2.5 lakh.
