ESIC beneficiaries will be able to get health services in all districts from April 1

ESIC provides health services through empaneled hospitals and health centers under the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (ABPMJAY).

New Delhi: Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) Insured Persons (IPs) will get health services under the ESI Scheme from April 1 in all 735 districts of the country. An official provided this information on Wednesday.




Presently, health services for IPs of ESIC are fully available in 387 districts and partially in 187 districts. There are 161 districts where these services are not available.

There was an agreement about this a few months ago. SP Tiwari, member of the Standing Committee of ESIC said, “In the meeting of the standing committee on Wednesday, the budget proposals were approved for the implementation of an arrangement. Under this, the hospitals coming on the panel of ABPMJAKY will provide health services to all the districts of the country from April 1, 2021.

Tiwari is also the Secretary General of the Trade Union Co-ordination Center (TUCC). He also participated in the meeting held on Wednesday. He said that ESIC has signed an MoU with the National Health Authority to provide medical care in new implementation areas. This will enable the beneficiaries of ESIC to get treatment in empaneled hospitals under ABPMJAY.
