Yamuna Expressway Link Road: Now you will not have to get stuck in the traffic jam of Kasna and Pari Chowk to go from Yamuna Expressway to Eastern Peripheral. NHAI has decided to build a link road between the two roads, on which about Rs 270 crore will be spent.
New Delhi. Now you will not have to get stuck in the jam of Kasna and Pari Chowk to go from Lucknow, Mathura, Agra and Eastern UP to Ghaziabad, Haryana and Meerut. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has started working on the proposal to build an interchange to connect the Yamuna Expressway to the Eastern Peripheral Expressway (EPE). Its construction work will start soon after the approval of the UP Cabinet. With the construction of this interchange, the journey of one hour between the two expressways can be completed in just 10 minutes.
To go from Yamuna Expressway to Eastern Peripheral, one has to travel about 20 kilometers. People have to pass through Kasna and Pari Chowk to cover the distance between the two routes, where it often takes more than an hour to cover this distance due to traffic jam. To solve this problem, NHAI is going to build an 11 km link road, after which one can reach EPF from Yamuna Expressway in just 10 minutes.
By when will the construction be completed
According to the proposal of NHAI, this link road will be built at a cost of about Rs 270 crore and it will take about 1 year to complete. Arun Veer Singh, Chief Executive Officer of Yamuna Expressway Authority, said that the new link road will start from Jaganpur Afzalpur, 10 km ahead of the zero point of Yamuna Expressway, and it will be connected to KGP.
NHAI will collect toll
NHAI will take full responsibility of construction and maintenance of this link road. After the link road is ready, a toll plaza will also be built on it and NHAI will collect toll to recover its cost. The survey for its construction has already been completed. The responsibility of land acquisition for the construction of the link road will be with the Yamuna Expressway Authority. After the construction of this link road, a direct route will open from Agra, Lucknow and Mathura to Ghaziabad, Hapur and Meerut.
The project is stuck for 5 years
The project to build a link road from Yamuna Expressway to EPF is stuck for the last 5 years. Its proposal was given 5 years ago, on which implementation has started now. The UP Cabinet has approved this project and NHAI has also agreed to release the funds. It is believed that its work will be completed within a year and after this there will be relief from the jam of Kasna, Greater Noida and Pari Chowk.
