New rule has been implemented on Yamuna Expressway regarding the speed of vehicles. Those who do not follow it will be fined. Light vehicles will not be able to run above 75 and heavy vehicles above 60 on Yamuna Expressway. This decision has been taken as a precaution in view of the accidents caused by fog. Light vehicles will be fined Rs 2000 for breaking the rule.
Yamuna Expressway Speed Limit: Drivers driving at high speed on Yamuna Expressway should be cautious to avoid fines. Now if light vehicles drive at a speed of more than 75 km per hour and heavy vehicles at a speed of more than 60 km per hour on the expressway, a fine will be imposed. To prevent the possibility of accidents due to dense fog, the previously set time limit on the expressway has been changed from Sunday.
Decision taken due to fog
Yamuna Vikas Pradhikaran has issued a letter regarding this change. Officers of the authority believe that visibility on roads reduces due to fog in winter, which makes driving difficult.
The roads are also slippery, which increases the risk of accidents. To protect drivers from such an untoward incident, it has been decided to reduce the speed limit on the Yamuna Expressway.
Know what is the speed limit fixed on Yamuna Expressway?
Light vehicles: Reduced from 100 km/h to 75 km/h
Heavy vehicles: Reduced from 80 km/h to 60 km/h
Action on violation
Now a fine of Rs 2,000 will be imposed on light vehicles that exceed the prescribed speed limit on the Yamuna Expressway. Whereas a fine of Rs 4,000 will be imposed on heavy vehicles.
Teams will crack down on those who do not follow the rules
In case of an accident on the 165 km long Yamuna Expressway from Greater Noida to Agra, timetables and phone numbers have been exchanged to take the injured to the hospital for timely treatment. Along with this, four teams have been deployed on both sides from Zero Point to Jewar Toll to crack down on overloaded vehicles. These teams will crack down on vehicles parked on the sides and overloaded vehicles.
Number of patrolling vehicles also increased
The number of vehicles for patrolling on the expressway has been increased from 11 to 15. At the same time, a campaign is going on to paste reflector tape on vehicles. Apart from this, the speed of vehicles on the expressway has also been reduced as compared to earlier from Sunday. Senior manager of the expressway, JK Sharma, said that a new speed limit has been set. A board has also been put up regarding this.
