Began Accordingly, to double the income of farmers from 2015-16 to 2022-23, a 10.4 percent annual growth rate in real income would be required.
Some agricultural economists also believe that the agriculture sector should grow by at least 10 per cent annually on average to double the income of farmers by 2022. While we are not able to achieve even the average target of 5 percent per annum. However, Dr. Ashok Dalwai, chairman of the Doubling Farmers’ Income Committee, had told us recently that the government is working in the right direction. This will increase the income of farmers.
