The court further said – the farmers are protesting against the laws, let them express their objections to the committee. We can accept the committee’s recommendations. Venugopal told the court that no law can be banned unless it violates fundamental rights or constitutional schemes.
According to the court, “We are proposing to pass an order for resolution of the problem of agricultural laws through a committee appointed by us.” At the same time, the CJI said – I want to take the risk of saying that the protesting farmers should return to their homes.
The court named the names of all former CJIs, including RM Lodha, for the post of chairman of the committee to find possible solutions to the ongoing protests against agricultural laws.
