Farmers-Protest: Stop the implementation of agricultural laws or else we will put it – SC spoke to the center amidst agitation

Farmers-Protest: The court said, “We are not talking about repeal of these agricultural laws at the moment, it is a very delicate situation. We do not know whether you (center) are part of the solution or the problem. We have one such petition No, who says that these laws are beneficial for the farmers. “

A hearing on this issue was held in the Supreme Court on Monday amid the agitation by the stalwarts against the three agricultural laws brought by the central government. The top court bluntly asked the NDA government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to stop the implementation of these laws, otherwise the court itself will do so.

The bench headed by the CJI said that we are very disappointed with the way negotiations are going on between the government and farmers regarding the new agricultural laws. The court also asked further – some people committed suicide. The elderly and women are also part of this movement. what’s going on? States are rebelling against your laws.

The court said, “We are not talking about repealing these agricultural laws at the moment, it is a very delicate situation.” We do not know whether you (center) are part of the solution or the problem. We do not have a single petition that says that these laws are beneficial for the farmers. ”

The court said that it wanted the matter to be resolved by negotiation, but no response from the Center has been given to stop the agricultural laws at present. The committee reiterated the need for these laws and said that if the committee suggested, it would put a stop to its implementation.

The court told the farmers’ organizations protesting against the agricultural laws, “Believe it or not, we are the top court of India, we will do our job.” Whether or not we are following the rule, but we (farmers) are worried about their food and water. We are not experts in the economy. You tell me whether the government will stop the agricultural law or we should impose it. ”

The court further said – the farmers are protesting against the laws, let them express their objections to the committee. We can accept the committee’s recommendations. We are very sorry to say that the Center has not been able to solve this problem and the farmers’ demonstration. However, Attorney General K.K. Venugopal told the court that no law can be banned unless it violates fundamental rights or constitutional schemes.

According to the court, “We are proposing to pass an order for resolution of the problem of agricultural laws through a committee appointed by us.” At the same time, the CJI said – I want to take the risk of saying that the protesting farmers should return to their homes.

The court named the names of all former CJIs, including RM Lodha, for the post of chairman of the committee to find possible solutions to the ongoing protests against agricultural laws.

Further ag k. K. On Venugopal asking for more time, the court said that we have given you a lot of time by the Attorney General. Please do not give us a speech on moderation. The court said that it will pass orders in different parts, regarding farmer demonstrations and the implementation of new agricultural laws.
