FASTag has become mandatory from 12 o’clock on the night of 15 and 16 February at Toll Plaza across the country. Now if your vehicle does not have a fastag, then you will have to pay double tax or penalty for passing through the toll plaza. This new system will not apply to two-wheelers.

New Delhi. The central government has extended the deadline to impose FASTag on vehicles many times. Recently, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari made it clear that now its deadline will not be extended further. After this, Fastag was made mandatory at the toll plaza of the country from midnight of 15 and 16 February to 12 noon. Simply put, if your car is not fastened, then you will have to pay double toll tax or penalty for crossing the toll plaza. This arrangement is not for two-wheelers.

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has also overcome the problems in getting Fastag recharged. If the fastag account of a vehicle is not recharged, then it will be able to recharge it at toll. Fastag is an electronic toll collection technique. It uses radio frequency identification (RFID). Fastag is a recharged prepaid tag, which you have to apply from inside on the windshield of your vehicle. As soon as the train reaches the toll plaza, the sensor installed there tracks the fastag. After this the charge is deducted from the Fastag account and you cross the toll without stopping.

There are

many options to buy the available fastags which are being made by the e-commerce platform and banks . You can buy it from e-commerce platforms like Paytm, Amazon and Flipkart. Apart from this, Fino Payments Bank and Paytm Payments Bank also issue fasttags. At the same time, HDFC Bank (HDFC Bank), ICICI Bank (ICICI Bank), SBI, Kotak Bank, Axis Bank are also providing fast.

How is the price of Fastag being decided?

The cost of the fastag depends on your vehicle to cross the toll plaza without interruption. Apart from this, the cost of the fast issuing bank and its security deposit policy is also fixed. If you buy the fast tag for the car from Paytm, then you will incur 500 rupees. It has a refund refund security deposit of Rs 250 and a minimum balance of 150. If you buy from ICICI Bank, then you have to keep Rs 99.12 for the tag and Rs 200 as the minimum balance. The National Payment Corporation of India has fixed the price of Fastag at Rs 100. Apart from this, a security deposit of Rs 200 has to be given.

Recharge as well

If Fastag is connected to NHAI prepaid wallet, it can be recharged through check, UPI, debit card, credit card, NEFT, net banking. If the bank account is linked to Fastag then the money is deducted directly from the account. If the Paytm wallet links to the fasttag, the toll tax is cut directly from the wallet. You will be able to cross the toll even if there is a minimum balance in the fastag wallet. Recently, NHAI has asked Fastg Issuing Banks that they cannot make it mandatory to keep any minimum balance other than security deposit. Earlier various banks were also asking to keep minimum balance in addition to security deposits in Fastag.
