Fastag Deadline Extended: National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has given great relief to the people. Understanding the problems of Paytm users, NHAI has extended the deadline of ‘One Vehicle, One FASTag’ till the end of March. Earlier its last date was today i.e. 29th February. If FASTag KYC details are not updated today then your FASTag could have been blacklisted from tomorrow. Not only this, banks could deactivate the Fastag of customers. It is noteworthy that this step has been taken to stop fraud related to Fastag.
You can submit these documents as ID proof
The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) had come across such cases where multiple Fastags were being issued on the same vehicles. Apart from this, Fastags are being given without verifying the details. Let us tell you that under the process of KYC, banks ask for details like government ID and other important documents from the customers. At the same time, customers have to verify their address by giving these documents. As ID proof – Along with passport, driving license, voter ID, PAN card, Aadhar card or MNREGA job card, you will have to provide the vehicle registration certificate of the vehicle linked to Fastag.
How to update KYC from bank website
To update your KYC from the bank, first go to the official website of NPCI https://www.npci.org.in/what-we-do/netc-fastag/product-overview. After this, select the bank with which your Fastag is linked. After this you login to the bank’s Fastag portal. After this, fill your details as per the instructions given. Finally submit the document.
Update on IHMCL website
To update your KYC from the website of Indian Highway Management Company Limited, you will first have to go to the customer portal ihmcl.co.in. After this, login by entering your registered number and password or OTP. Go to ‘My Profile’ section and select ‘KYC’. According to the instructions that will appear in front of you, enter the details and submit the documents.
If you want to update KYC offline then you will have to go to your bank branch. The Fastag account will have to be updated by giving the necessary documents there. It is noteworthy that a senior official said that in view of the problems faced by Paytm Fastag users, it is proposed to extend its deadline till the end of March.
