FASTag KYC Update: If your FASTag KYC is incomplete, you will receive a notification via email, SMS or the application interface of the issuing bank regarding incomplete KYC.
FASTag KYC Last Date: National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has extended the last date for updating Fastag KYC by one month. Now you can update KYC of Fastag till 31st March. Earlier this deadline was kept till 29th February.
Under NHAI’s One Vehicle, One Fastag initiative, there will now be one Fastag for one vehicle. This Fastag cannot be used for any other vehicle.
If you don’t update your FASTag, you may be blacklisted.
Those who do not update FASTag KYC details, their FASTag may be blacklisted after March 31. According to the order of National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), the bank will deactivate the Fastag of the customers if their KYC is not updated by the last date.
If this happens, you may face difficulties while traveling on the highway.
What is FASTag?
The Government of India made FASTags mandatory for all vehicles from February 15, 2001. FASTag is an electronic toll collection system that simplifies the payment process of toll tax at all toll plazas. It helps in automatically deducting the toll amount from the linked bank account.
On which technology does it work?
FASTag works through Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology, which facilitates easy collection of toll tax payments. When a vehicle equipped with FASTag approaches the toll plaza, the scanner recognizes the tag and deducts the applicable amount from your account (bank account or prepaid card).

According to the IHML website, “If your FASTag KYC is incomplete, you will receive a notification via email, SMS or the application interface of the issuing bank regarding incomplete KYC. You are requested to keep an eye on your registered communication channels like SMS, e-mail etc. for updates.

- If you have not received any notification or reminder from your bank then it means that your KYC has been completed and no action is required from your end.
