Fasttag wallet: NHAI has changed the rule of Fastag, your vehicle will not stop even if there is no balance

Delhi: If you drive a car then there is good news for you. You no longer need to have a minimum balance in (Fastag) if you travel on National Highways. NHAI has now abolished the requirement of Minimum Balance for making good use of Pace Check, although this facility is only for cars, jeeps, vans, minimum balance is still required for commercial vehicles.

The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has said that it is not necessary to have a minimum balance other than the bank security deposit issued by Fastag. Due to lack of minimum balance in the fast vault, passengers were not allowed to drive at the toll plaza due to lack of minimum balance, causing inconvenience to them. Had to




The Toll Plaza Crossing 

(NHAI) has now decided that the driver will now be allowed to cross the toll plaza. Unless there is a negative balance between Fasttag. That is, if the Fasttag account has less money but is not negative, the car will still be allowed to cross the toll plaza. Even if the fasttag account becomes negative after crossing the toll plaza. If the customer does not recharge it, the negative account amount can be recovered from the bank security deposit.

80% of the collection is from Fastag

There are currently over 2.54 crore Fastag users across the country. Fastag accounts for 80 per cent of the total toll collection on the National Highway, while daily daily toll collection through pass tags has crossed Rs 89 crore. Let me tell you that from 15th February 2021, payment will be mandatory at Toll Plaza through Fastag. NHAI aims to make countries 100 per cent cashless toll plazas in India
