It is said that where there is a will, there is a way. India’s Defense Institute DRDO has done something similar. Due to Coronavirus Second Wave, there has been a flood of patients in hospitals across the country.
Patients who are gasping due to the effects of Corona virus are getting the most need of Oxygen Shortage. The whole of India is struggling with lack of oxygen. In such a situation, DRDO has arranged to make oxygen available by flying oxygen in India’s first light fighter aircraft Tejas. This means that the way oxygen is made in the aircraft while flying in Tejas, now the same technique of making oxygen is being made available to everyone.
1000 liters of oxygen in 1 minute
The Defense Minister of the country interacted with the senior officials of the ministry through a video conference on Tuesday. Chief of Defense Staff, Army and Navy Chiefs were also present in this meeting. He asked the army to keep in touch with the state governments in view of any need. According to the statement of the Ministry of Defense, Rajnath Singh said that the industry has been given the technology of 1000 liters per minute oxygen cylinder. Uttar Pradesh has also placed orders for 5 such plants. These plants work on the technology by which oxygen is made by flying in Tejas aircraft. During the meeting, DRDO chairman Dr G Satish Reddy said that the industry can provide more plants as per the requirement.
Corona treatment with military equipment
DRDO has provided another solution for corona patients due to acute oxygen shortage. The DRDO has designed a special oxygen delivery system to allow the troops deployed at high altitude to breathe. It will also be made available for Corona patients. The Ministry of Defense has said in its statement that
This automatic system can prove to be a boon in the midst of the Corona crisis.

The system has been developed by DRDO’s Defense Bio-Engineering and Electro Medical Laboratory (DEBEL), Bangalore. It maintains the SpO2 (Blood Oxygen Saturation) level and avoids the state of hicoxia caused by the lack of oxygen.
Hycoxia occurs when the supply of oxygen in the human body cells is reduced as needed. This causes a shortage of energy. The same situation also happens for the corona patient. After corona infection, there is a strong infection in the lungs of the patient and breathlessness starts. Due to this people are dying.
According to DRDO Chairman Dr. Reddy, the SpO2-based oxygen delivery system helps soldiers at altitude breathe. It can also be used for corona patients.
