New Delhi. The central government said on Thursday that the first Bharat Toy Fair will be held online from 27 February to 2 March.
Children, parents, teachers, demonstrators etc. will be able to register themselves to participate in the fair on the website launched on Thursday for the Indian Toy Fair 2021. Inaugurating the website, Union Minister Piyush Goyal said that about a year ago there were complaints of poor quality toys, cheap toys being imported, which had a bad impact on the Indian toy industry.
https://t.co/nR8hqnWqGO pic.twitter.com/WOoqgh8oG0

He said, the matter was investigated by a committee which found that 30 percent of the imported plastic toys contained large quantities of chemicals and heavy metals, which were higher than the prescribed levels. Other toys were also found to lack quality. Because of this, a quality control order for toys was issued. This initiative will ensure that Indians have access to quality toys.
