Flight Delayed Rule: Due to fog, many flights are flying late these days. Due to this, passengers are facing a lot of trouble. In view of this problem of the passengers, the Aviation Minister has given many strict instructions to the airlines. It has been said that if the flight is delayed by more than 3 hours, then it should be cancelled.
Flight Delayed Rule: News of delay in flights taking off from many airports of the country due to fog is common. Most of the news comes from North India where visibility becomes zero due to fog in winters. In such a situation, flights get delayed, due to which passengers have to face trouble. But now this will not happen. The Aviation Minister has given strict instructions to the airlines regarding flight delays. Civil Aviation Minister K Ram Mohan Naidu had a review meeting regarding fog preparations. During this, he told the airline companies that if there is a delay in the flight, then correct information should be given to the passengers about it. He also said that if a flight is delayed by more than three hours, then it should be cancelled.
Clear instructions regarding passenger convenience
In the meeting, the Union Minister also gave several clear instructions to the airlines regarding the safety and convenience of the passengers. He said that all the staff should be present at the check-in counter so that the passengers do not face any problems. The Civil Aviation Ministry said in a release, ‘Preparations for managing the challenges related to visibility this winter are moving in the right direction. Also, good progress has been made in removing the problems faced in this.’
Asked to install screens
The release said that if a flight is delayed or cancelled due to low visibility, passengers should be given complete and accurate information about it. If the flight is delayed by more than three hours, the airline will have to cancel that flight.
Delhi Airport operator DIAL has been advised to install LED screens at prominent places. This is so that passengers can get information about the visibility status in real time.

Airlines will follow DGCA’s instructions
According to the release, airline companies have confirmed that they will follow DGCA’s guidelines regarding deployment of aircraft and pilots as per CAT 2 and 3 for Delhi and other airports. Out of the four runways of Delhi Airport, three have CAT 3 ILS (Instrument Landing System). Flights can take off from here even if there is low visibility.
What will happen if the flight is cancelled?
If the flight is cancelled, the airlines provide many facilities to the passengers. These facilities are important:
Reimbursement: In this, the passenger can take full payment of the ticket from the airline.
Another flight: If the flight is cancelled, the airline provides another flight. No additional charge is taken from the passenger for this.
Food and accommodation: If the second flight is delayed, it is the responsibility of the airline to arrange food and hotel accommodation for the passenger. No money is taken for this either.
