Flights Cancelled: 50 flights cancelled due to low visibility, CSMIA issues advisory for passengers

Flights Cancelled: Due to heavy rains in Mumbai for the last 24 hours, runway operations at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport have been temporarily suspended. Many flights have been diverted and about 50 flights have been cancelled.

Flights Cancelled: The continuous torrential rain in Mumbai has become a disaster for the people. Due to the rain, road transport has been affected, but it has also affected air services. Due to heavy rains since last Monday, runway operations at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport have been temporarily suspended from 02:22 to 03:40 hours.

Flights canceled due to heavy rains in Mumbai

In view of the heavy rains, many flights coming to Mumbai were also diverted. Operational activities on the runway remained closed for more than an hour due to low visibility and 50 flights were canceled. At the same time, CSMIA has deployed airport personnel at the terminals to assist the passengers and provide them necessary assistance.

Apart from this, keeping in mind the safety of the passengers, CSMIA has also arranged for additional seating space and water. The airport authority is also in close contact with the local authorities and passengers have been requested by them to connect with their respective airlines and check the schedule before arriving at the airport. They say that the safety and well-being of passengers, employees and partners is their top priority.

Water filled on railway track

Rain water has filled on railway track, due to which the speed of local trains has also slowed down. On Central Railway, Karjat-Khopoli, Kasara to CSMT local trains are running only till Thane and have been cancelled further. Railway track at Bhandup station is flooded. This has affected the Central Railway line. At the same time, due to water accumulation on the railway track at Kurla-Mankhurd station, local trains of Harbor route have been cancelled.

The Meteorological Department has predicted more heavy rains in the entire state including Mumbai in the next 3-4 days. Heavy rains are forecast in Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada from July 8 to July 10.
