“Ministry of Civil Aviation under the guidance of our visionary Prime Minister is committed to facilitate the movement of citizens across the country and give wings to their development.” Jyotiraditya Scindia along with the Ministry of Civil Aviation, General (Retd) Dr. V.K. Singh and Bareilly MP and former Union Minister Santosh Gangwar had flagged off IndiGo’s Bareilly-Mumbai flight.
Earlier in July also, flights were started from Madhya Pradesh to Maharashtra and Gujarat with 8 new routes Gwalior-Mumbai-Gwalior, Gwalior-Pune-Gwalior, Jabalpur-Surat-Jabalpur, and Ahmedabad-Gwalior-Ahmedabad. Flight operations on these routes are in line with the objectives of the Government of India’s ‘Sab Ude, Sab Judean’ initiative, which aims to strengthen air connectivity to tier-2 and tier-3 cities of the country with metros.
Bareilly also got a gift
IndiGo Airline has started the first flight from Bareilly to Mumbai. Airline Indigo will operate flights from Bareilly to Mumbai four days a week from now. Whereas from August 14, Indigo will also operate flights to Bengaluru three days a week. This airline will be operated under the regional connectivity scheme ‘UDAN’.
The benefit of these flights going to start from Bareilly airport will also benefit the neighboring state of Uttarakhand including seven districts of Rohilkhand of UP. The seven districts of Rohilkhand, including Bareilly, Shahjahanpur, Pilibhit, Rampur, Badaun, Moradabad and Bijnor, will be able to get the benefit of this flight service. Similarly, the districts of the neighboring state of Uttarakhand will also be able to get the benefit of these flights. Nainital is the tourist hill station near Bareilly. But due to the absence of an airport in Nainital, Bareilly airport will be the nearest airport, due to which the arrival of passengers is also expected to remain here. Apart from Nainital, cities like Haldwani, Rampur will also get the benefit of Bareilly Airport.
