Work is going on on flying taxis in many countries around the world. But meanwhile, the Chinese government has approved the country’s first autonomous passenger drone or flying taxi. The Chinese government has allowed the commercial use of flying taxis in the future. That is, now low-altitude air taxis can be used there.
According to the South China Morning Post, the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) has given air operator certificate to Ehang Holdings and Hefei He Airlines. After receiving this certificate, both these companies have got permission to operate passenger drones (Flying Air Taxi) in urban areas.
Let us tell you that China is rapidly engaged in accelerating its economy. For this, the government there is also engaged in increasing the low-altitude transport business. Which includes advanced electric take-off and landing (eVTOL) vehicles such as delivery drones, blimps and flying cars.
The government wants to develop this sector faster with the help of technologies like biomanufacturing, quantum computing, AI and 6G networks.
EHang, the company that got the certificate for flying taxi operation, said that, “The Aviation Administration has given the certificate to its associate company EHang General Aviation.
The company said that, “People of Guangzhou and Hefei cities can now buy tickets for aerial tourism, sight seeing and experiential flights.”
