FM Press Conference: From Emergency Credit Line Guarantee Scheme to EPF Support 14 Big Things, Read Here

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has extended the EPF assistance to employers and employees under the Atmanirbhar Bharat Rozgar Yojana till March 31, 2022. This scheme was first launched in October 2020.



New Delhi. Addressing the press conference today, Union Finance Minister Sitharaman is announcing eight relief measures. Out of these eight measures, four announcements are new. First of all, a new relief package related to the health sector was announced. The Finance Minister has announced a 1.1 lakh crore loan guarantee scheme for the Kovid-affected sector. To face the economic challenges arising due to Corona crisis, a relief package of 1.1 lakh crores has been announced for the sectors affected by Covid-19. Under this Stimulus Package, Rs 50,000 crore has been announced for the healthcare sector and Rs 60,000 crore for other sectors.

1 – Rs 1.1 crore loan guarantee scheme has been announced for the Kovid Affect Sector. In which 50 thousand crore rupees have been allocated for the health sector and 60 thousand crore rupees for other sectors.  

2 – An additional Rs 1.5 lakh crore was announced under the Emergency Credit Line Guarantee Scheme (ECLGS). Sector-wise details will be finalized as per the requirement. 

3- After the COVID-19 pandemic, the government has given micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) the first Rs 3 lakh crore allotted more. In which the government has now increased by Rs 1.5 lakh crore. In such a situation, there will be an outlay of Rs 4.5 lakh crore for MSMEs.

4- Credit Guarantee Scheme It has been started for the first time. In which loans up to Rs 1.25 lakh will be given to 25 lakh people. In which the lowest interest will be charged at the rate of 2 percent.

5- Finance Minister announced financial assistance to over 11,000 registered tourist guides/travel and tourism stakeholders through credit guarantee scheme for COVID affected areas  


6- Free tourist visa will be given to the first 5 lakh tourists on issuance of visas. In which total financial

implementation total 100 crore  7- EPF assistance to employers and employees under Atmanirbhar Bharat Rozgar Yojana has been extended till March 31, 2022. This scheme was first launched in October 2020.

8- A total of Rs 1,33,972 lakh crore was allocated in the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY) in 2020-21. In which food grains worth Rs 93,869 crore were distributed free of cost through this scheme. Which was started in March 2020 and later it was extended till November 2021.

9- A provision of Rs 23,220 crore has been made for emergency health services this year. Last year Rs 15,000 crore was given to Emergency Health Services. It became more than 9000 Kovid Health Care Centers. At the same time, there was a seven and a half times increase in oxygen beds, 42 times increase in the number of ICU beds.

10-At present, preparations are being made keeping in mind the pediatrics. This provision has been made to ensure adequate availability of ICU beds, health equipment, medicines for the children. At the same time, it will also benefit in increasing the testing capacity. This amount will be available by March 2022.

11 – Finance Minister Sitharaman said that 389.92 lakh metric tonnes of wheat was purchased in the agricultural sector in the Rabi marketing season 2020-21. Wherein 2021-22 bought 432.48 lakh metric tonnes of wheat. Record payments of more than 85 lakh crores were made.

12 – An additional Rs 19,041 crore has been allocated for providing broadband to each village through BharatNet PPP model.

13 – A project of Rs 33 thousand crore has been brought to promote exports. Under this, export will be done through National Export Insurance Account.


14 – The PLI scheme for large scale electronics manufacturers has been extended for one year till the financial year 2025-26. Under this scheme, manufacturers will be given 6 per cent to 4 per cent incentive on salmon manufactured in India.
