There is a news of relief for those traveling from NCR city Faridabad to Noida and Ghaziabad. The Public Works Department (PWD) has completed the survey work of the Faridabad-Noida-Ghaziabad Expressway (FNG Expressway) project. Three alignments (routes) have been prepared in the new detailed project report (DPR) of this expressway. Work will be started on one after approval by the PWD headquarters.

The DPR will be sent to the headquarters by the PWD after Diwali. With the completion of the project, one lakh people who travel between Ghaziabad-Noida and Faridabad via Delhi will get relief from the problem of traffic jam. About one lakh people from the city travel to Noida-Ghaziabad daily due to jobs and other work. Yamuna river falls between Noida-Faridabad. People have to go to Noida by road via Delhi Kalindi Kunj. Drivers face problems due to frequent traffic jams on this road built along the Agra canal. On the other hand, if one goes to Noida from Delhi, one has to get stuck in traffic for hours. It takes at least one hour to go by metro. Due to which people are facing a lot of trouble. About six months ago, MSV Company of Noida was appointed as the consultant agency by the Public Works Department to prepare the DPR of the expressway. The agency has prepared the DPR and handed it over to the Public Works Department, in which three alignments have been identified.

The project is included in the NCR Planning Board: FNG was included in the regional plan of the NCR Planning Board in 1998 and in the master plan of 2011 on the suggestion of Faridabad Municipal Corporation. After the survey, this plan was canceled. In the year 2015, a plan was prepared to start it again. But till now the work could not start.

Survey has been done earlier also

The state government has included the FNG project in its flagship project. Two years ago, Chief Minister Manohar Lal had held a review meeting with the officials regarding the unnecessary delay in the project. In which he had ordered the officials to resolve all the disputes and start the work. After this, Faridabad Metropolitan Development Authority and Public Works Department officials reached the spot and inspected the possible route. The place was marked for the bridge to be built on Yamuna.

These are the proposed routes

PWD has completed the survey to build a nine kilometer long road in Faridabad. A new route has been prepared for this. The flaws in the route have been included. According to PWD officials, the FNG Expressway will start from near the private hospital located in Sector-88 of Greater Faridabad. After this, it will reach the Yamuna bank in Lalpur via Khedi Kalan village. Where it will be connected to Mangroli village in Noida through a bridge. A 600 meter long bridge will be constructed on the Yamuna river between Faridabad and Noida. Haryana and Uttar Pradesh governments will spend 50-50 percent of the budget on this bridge. This will be a six-lane bridge. It is estimated to cost around Rs 150 to 200 crore. Also, to connect the bridge, the authorities on both sides will build the approach road at their own expense.

Executive Engineer of Public Works Department Pradeep Sandhu said, “The survey of FNG has been completed. Three routes have been identified in the DPR prepared by the consultant agency. Its file will soon be sent to the government for approval. After approval, construction work will be started on one of the routes.”
