Green Card Update: Big announcement regarding green card, millions of Indians can get benefit

A White House commission has issued necessary instructions in this regard. If this announcement is implemented then eight lakh foreigners working in America will benefit. A large number of Indians will also benefit from this.

America has made a big announcement related to Green Card. This announcement is going to greatly benefit the foreigners, especially Indians, waiting for the green card there. Under this, it has been recommended to issue Employment Authorization Card and other necessary travel documents at the initial stage of the application process. A White House commission has issued necessary instructions in this regard. If this announcement is implemented then eight lakh foreigners working in America will benefit. A large number of Indians are also included in this.

Waiting for Biden’s yes

The special thing is that it will also include those applicants who have been in the backlog for more than 5 years and had applied in 2018. The White House Commission on Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) Affairs approved the recommendation on Thursday. This proposal is now awaiting the approval of US President Joe Biden. According to estimates, it may take more than 18 months to implement. According to the proposal, the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (DHS USCIS) of the Department of Homeland Security should provide Employment Authorization Document (EAD) and travel documents to people who have applied for I-140 employment in the EB-1, EB-2, and EB-3 categories. Based visa petitions have been approved and have been waiting in the visa backlog for five or more years.

Staff shortage will go away

According to the proposal, this will address staff shortages, especially in sectors such as health care and STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) sectors. Apart from this, it will bridge the gap in rural communities and increase opportunities for special jobs. Without this rule, there is a backlog of indentured servants who must continually renew their work visas (H-1B/L-1). They cannot travel independently during this process. Cannot remain unemployed for more than two months. Apart from this, it will not be easy for them to change jobs.
