Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah held a high-level meeting with Foxconn Industrial Internet (FII) CEO Brand Cheng and other representatives in this regard. Come with Foxconn’s affiliate FII investment An investment of Rs 8,800 crore has been planned under the proposal. Patil said that 14000 new jobs will be created due to this.
About 100 acres of land will be required for the project. Apart from manufacturing the necessary components for the phone, FII will also manufacture the screen and outer cover. It will serve as a supplementary plant to the assembly unit at Devanahalli (ITIR). Interestingly, the Karnataka government has indicated that it does not want to lose this project in any way.
Second proposal to state
This is the second investment proposal by Foxconn and its subsidiaries to Karnataka this year. In March this year, the company selected the Information Technology Industrial Area near Bangalore Airport to set up a phone manufacturing plant. The company will invest 8000 crores in this place. The production unit is expected to be commissioned from April 2024 with the proposed investment of this unit.
