Deadline for free Aadhaar update extended several times

It may not be mandatory for Aadhaar card holders to update their 10 year old Aadhaar Card, but it is very important from security point of view. The Unique Identification Authority of India has extended the deadline for updating Aadhaar for free several times and has continued this facility till December 14, 2023. However, in many media reports it is expected that it can be extended again for three months. However, there has been no official update in this regard on the UIDAI website. UIDAI had set the last date for free Aadhaar update as 14 December 2023, which is going to end on Thursday.

Apart from this, you can also get this work done offline. However, if a user updates Aadhaar offline by going to Aadhaar center instead of online, then he has to pay a fee of Rs 25.

At the same time, if there is any old information in the Aadhaar card and it has not been updated, then your work may also get stuck. Apart from this, the possibility of fraud may also increase if Aadhaar is not updated with the latest information. In view of this, the Central Government had asked to update the 10 year old Aadhaar card.
