Students of class 9th to 12th will get free books
A total amount of Rs 19.70 crore will be spent in providing free textbooks to the students of classes 9 to 12 in 2428 government secondary schools in Uttar Pradesh.
This was discussed in a high-level meeting at the government level. At present, free textbooks are being given to the students of classes one to eight in council schools and secondary schools only.
On the other hand, this facility is being given to students up to class 12 in many states. This includes Gujarat, Uttarakhand, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Himachal Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. Now preparations are being made to provide this facility to the students in UP also. So that students can get books on time and their interest towards studies can increase further.
Financial constraints will not become a hindrance in education
At present, after getting this facility till class eight, when the student gets admission in class nine, then this facility ends. All the parents of low income group have to face difficulty. But now they will not have to worry anymore.
At present, students of class nine to class 12 of government secondary schools will get this facility. Further, this benefit can also be given to the students of non-government aided secondary schools.
