Recently, the Uttar Pradesh government announced the Free Gas Cylinder Scheme. Then the Andhra Pradesh government also announced to distribute free gas cylinders on Diwali.

Announcement of free gas cylinder on Diwali

The central government has promised to give free cylinders on Diwali to those with gas connections under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana. The Uttar Pradesh government had announced free cylinders to the beneficiaries on Holi and Diwali. The state government has said that 1 lakh 84 thousand 39 beneficiaries will be given the benefit of free LPG cylinders. To avail this benefit, first the connection holder will have to pay the full amount of the gas cylinder in cash. The amount will be transferred to the consumer’s bank account after three to four days as a refund.

Who will get free gas cylinder

The benefit of this scheme will be given only to those consumers who are beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana. Whose Aadhaar authentication has been done. Only those consumers whose e-KYC process has been completed. They will get the benefit of this scheme. If you have not got your eKYC done yet, then contact your concerned gas agency and get Aadhaar verification done.

How to apply for free cylinder

After the announcement of the Uttar Pradesh government, the Andhra Pradesh government and the Uttarakhand government have also announced to give free cylinders to the beneficiaries on Diwali under the Ujjwala scheme. To avail this benefit, you must be registered in the Ujjwala scheme. To apply in this scheme, you can apply by visiting the nearest Common Service Center or LPG distributor. The government has started this scheme for women. After fulfilling the necessary conditions, you will be associated with the Ujjwala Yojana scheme. Let us tell you that the beneficiaries of the Ujjwala scheme get a cylinder 300 rupees cheaper than the general consumers. The subsidy is deposited directly into the bank account of the beneficiaries.
