Along with this gift of Modi government, the people of Uttar Pradesh got the gift of Yogi government. The Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh is going to give the gift of free cylinders to about 2 crore families on Holi. UP government is giving the gift of free cylinder to the beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana on the festival of Holi. This was announced by the UP Cabinet in November 2023 itself.
What is Yogi government’s free cylinder scheme?
On the occasion of Holi, Yogi government will give free cylinders to 2 crore Ujjwala beneficiaries. Last year itself, in November 2023, the Yogi government had announced this gift. According to the announcement, the UP government will distribute free cylinders to Ujjwala beneficiaries twice a year. On the occasion of Diwali and Holi, these beneficiaries will be given free LPG cylinders. About 2 crore families of the state will benefit from this. Let us tell you that Yogi government will spend Rs 2312 crore on this scheme. Apart from Holi, the government will also give free gas cylinders to the people on Dhanteras.
What are the conditions of the free cylinder scheme?
The government also has some conditions for this free cylinder scheme. According to this condition, this benefit will be available only to those beneficiaries who are residents of Uttar Pradesh. That means only people of Uttar Pradesh will get the benefit of this scheme. To get a free gas cylinder under this scheme, it is mandatory to link your bank account with Aadhaar. To avail the benefits of this scheme, the beneficiary must be eligible for the Ujjwala scheme.
What is Ujjwala scheme?
Let us tell you that in the year 2016, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had started the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana. Under this scheme, the government gives a subsidy of Rs 300 per cylinder, earlier it was Rs 200. This subsidy will be available till 31 March 2025. In this scheme, the family gets 12 cylinders at subsidized rate in a year. Till now, more than 9 crore families of the country have been given free gas cylinder connections under this scheme.
