Free LPG Cylinders: A few months before the assembly elections in Maharashtra, the state government has been seen opening its coffers. Ajit Pawar, who is also handling the responsibility of Finance Minister, presented the budget on Friday. During this, he announced the ‘Mukhyamantri Annapurna’ scheme, under which a family of 5 members will be given 3 free gas cylinders annually. Ajit Pawar said that we will give 3 free cylinders to all households every year under the Chief Minister Annapurna Yojana of the Maharashtra government. It is believed that this will provide a lot of relief to small and poor families.
Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar also announced a financial assistance scheme for women in the state budget. He said that we are announcing Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Behan (Chief Minister My Dear Sister). Under this, all women will be given Rs 1500 every month. This scheme will come into effect from July 2024. Under this, allowance will be given to women between the ages of 21 and 60. He said that an annual budgetary allocation of Rs 46,000 crore will be made for this scheme. It is known that it is being implemented four months before the assembly elections to be held in the state in October.
Big announcement for farmers of Maharashtra too
The Deputy CM of Maharashtra also gave good news for the farmers of the state. He said, ‘All the farmers of cotton and soybean crops in Maharashtra will be given a bonus of Rs 5000 per hectare. Also, even after July 1, milk producing farmers will be given a bonus of Rs 5 per liter. The government has increased financial assistance in deaths due to animal attacks. Now it has been decided to give Rs 25 lakh instead of Rs 20 lakh. For financial assistance to onion producing farmers in the state, subsidy of more than Rs 850 crore has been received at the rate of Rs 350 per quintal. The Deputy Chief Minister said that a revolving fund of Rs 200 crore each is being prepared for the purchase of onion and cotton at guaranteed prices.
