Free Ration News / One Nation One Ration Card Scheme: Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the country on Monday and made a big announcement regarding the poor. With this announcement, a big benefit is going to reach the poor people of the country. Yes… PM Modi has said that the government has decided to expand the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana. Now this scheme will continue till Diwali. This means that ration card holders are now entitled to get 5 kg free food grains in addition to the quota available on the ration card till November.




Giving a big relief to the poor during the Corona pandemic, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday announced that the government has decided to extend the scheme of distributing wheat and rice free of cost to around 80 crore people till November. Let us tell you that in April, the Modi government at the Center had announced free food grains distribution for May and June under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY) to help people during the second wave of the corona epidemic.

What PM Modi said: Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in his address to the nation that last year when the lockdown was imposed due to the Corona epidemic, more than 80 crore people were given free ration for eight months under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana. was given by the government. This year also the plan was implemented for May and June due to the second wave of the pandemic. The government has decided to extend the PMGKAY till Diwali. During the pandemic, the government stands with the poor. The government will do the work of providing free food grains in fixed quantity to more than 80 crore people by November.

 

What is the scheme: Let us discuss here that under PMGKAY, the center is distributing five kilograms of food grains per person per month free of cost to about 79.39 crore beneficiaries covered under the National Food Security Act (NFSA). This distribution is in addition to the regular allocation to the beneficiaries under NFSA. The Center provides five kilograms of wheat and rice per person per month at a subsidized rate of Rs 2-3 per kg to about 80 crore beneficiaries under the NFSA. The Center procures wheat and paddy at Minimum Support Price (MSP) to meet its foodgrain requirement. State-owned Food Corporation of India (FCI) is the nodal agency for procurement and distribution of food grains.

NFSA website: On the National Food Security Portal ie NFSA, different toll-free numbers for each state have been made available to the customers. If you want, you can remove the number from here by opening the NFSA website https://nfsa.gov.in on your computer or phone. You are able to register complaint on this website through mail and through phone number. Here you will see the different toll-free number of each state. Keep in mind that the method of making ration card is not the same in every state.

Why Helpline Number: The government is committed to reducing corruption. To ensure the distribution of food grains, the grievance helpline number has been made available to the cardholder so that the subsidized ration reaches the poor without any hindrance. The central government is trying to effectively deal with the ration dealers involved in hoarding food grains for the poor people. If any ration card holder is not getting their food quota, then they are able to resolve the issue by calling the toll-free helpline number.
